How to schedule downtime
Scheduling downtime for a host disables alerting for that particular host, for the period of the downtime. It is designed to be used when major system work has been planned. Setting downtime for the host will let Bulletproof's Engineers know that work is being undertaken on the system. You can cancel downtime at anytime through the Control Centre interface.
To schedule downtime for a host, firstly log into Bulletproof's Control Centre (https://cc.bulletproof.net) with the username and password supplied to you.
Select 'Status Summary' from the Monitoring and Alerting section of the menu on the left-hand side of the page.
Next, select the Host Group that contains the server that is having downtime set.
Click on the service ID of the server in question.
At this point a screen containing details of all monitored services for the particular host will be presented. To set downtime for the entire host (disable all alerting for the server), select the server name from the Host column.
From the Host Commands menu, in the bottom-right of the page, select 'Schedule downtime for this host'.
A screen requestingstart and stop times for the downtime will appear. Adjust the values accordingly, and press 'Commit'.
A confirmation page will appear stating that downtime has been scheduled for this host. Acknowledge this by pressing 'Done'. You will now be returned to the page containing host commands.
To stop scheduled downtime (this will re-enable alerting for the host), select 'Cancel Scheduled downtime for this host', from the Host Commands menu (shown above).
Again, a confirmation page will appear giving options on which downtime is to be canceled.
Press 'Commit' to cancel all active and pending downtime for the server in question. A confirmation page stating that the command has been submitted for processing will be presented. Acknowledge this by pressing 'Done'.
